Lean Manufacturing Initiatives

• All full-time employees have undergone Lean 101 Principles training. Newly hired personnel are put on a waiting list to receive this training so that they can complete their own internal company-wide and departmental training first
• A select group of individuals went on for advanced lean training in the areas of 5S, setup & downtime reduction, kanban – pull systems, value stream mapping and cellular flow
• Most production and management teams have participated in kaizen events throughout the building
• Polymer's new adjacent facility is being built with clean room, lean cell manufacturing into the designs

Customer Seminars

Years ago, we started a service for our customers that offers a chance to tour the facility, network, and be a part of a two-day seminar that explains the basics of injection molding, tool design and the processes that surround them.

Customers are able to see every detail that goes into quotes, tools, samples, validations and production runs. Our seminars also provide additional confidence with the projects they work on, and arms them with technical knowledge for choosing the right partner for future programs.

They get a face-to-face opportunity to meet key Polymer people, get a feel for how they do business, and the chance to network with other professionals that they can actually build relationships with for their own business purposes in the future.

Over the last decade, many competitors have started similar programs for their customers, which humbles Polymer to know that what they offer is of value and are practices sought after, industry-wide.
