Assembly & Packaging

OEM's are outsourcing operations that are no longer of financial interest to do in their own facility. Consolidating efforts and partnering with Polymer Conversions allows your team to shift their focus from worrying about production overhead and equipment expenses on a daily basis, to meeting vital corporate goals, satisfying shareholders and beating your competitors to market.
Whether you have a medical device that needs to be manufactured, assembled and packaged all in a cleanroom environment, or your products fit one of the other industries we serve, your team benefits from our experience and ultra clean facility.
The most widely used assembly methods at PCI are the heat staking or ultrasonic inserting of threaded inserts, or the addition of o-rings prior to assembly. Plastic components can be attached to each other by hand for delicate areas, or with automation, depending on the part geometry and complexity built into the areas being assembled together. (visit our Decorating and Joining page for additional information) You get a quality product, every time, because PCI's post-molding employees do in-process inspections each shift, to ensure inserts are seated to the proper depth, and that products meet customer requirements before final packaging.
Shiny, smooth cosmetic surfaces on products can be protected by cell or layer packing, or can even be surrounded with individual poly bags per part, if your budget allows. (We recommend a slightly textured surface either built into the tool or as a result of material properties, to conceal post- purchase scratches and dents by the consumer.)
Our in-house capabilities to design & build some of the assembly and cell manufacturing fixtures that cannot be readily ordered, is also a plus to your organization. This helps to make the processes more repeatable, safe for both the employees and the products they are working with, as well as cutting lead times and costs for special order equipment.
